I just got off of a plane. As always, as soon as my seat-neighbor hears that I am a professional travel writer, I get asked the same question, every. single. time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat is your favorite place you\u2019ve ever been to?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Could there be a more difficult question?! I usually respond with a glib answer \u2014 \u201cCould a mother choose her favorite child?\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, this time, it got me thinking, so I will give this a shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First up, New York City<\/a>. The energy there is electric! From Broadway shows to Central Park strolls, it\u2019s a city that never sleeps and neither do I when I\u2019m there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, let\u2019s jet over to San Francisco. The Golden Gate Bridge, the fog, and the hills! It\u2019s like walking through a postcard. And the food? Don\u2019t get me started on the clam chowder and sourdough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, how could I forget New Orleans? Jazz, beignets, and a culture that\u2019s a gumbo of awesomeness. It\u2019s a city that dances to its own beat, and I love it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ah, Maui<\/a>. When I need to recharge, it\u2019s my go-to. The beaches are a dream, and the Road to Hana is a journey I\u2019d take any day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of journeys, the Grand Canyon is next. Pictures don\u2019t do it justice. You have to stand on the edge to really feel its grandeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Switching gears a bit, let\u2019s talk about Charleston. Southern charm, historic homes, and comfort food that\u2019ll make you want to stay forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Up north, there\u2019s Chicago. The architecture is mind-blowing, and the deep-dish pizza is a meal unto itself. Plus, the art scene? Phenomenal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a dose of nature, Yellowstone is a must. Geysers, wildlife, and landscapes that look like they\u2019re straight out of a painting. It\u2019s Mother Nature showing off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back to the coast, I adore Key West. It\u2019s like the Caribbean without leaving the States. Snorkeling, sunsets, and a laid-back vibe that\u2019s contagious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last but not least, Austin. Live music, food trucks, and a keep-it-weird attitude that makes it a place like no other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So there you have it, my top 10 U.S. spots. Each one holds a special place in my heart and in my blog. Whether it\u2019s the bustling cities or serene nature spots, America\u2019s got a bit of everything for everyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
